possibly not the right place: sending flowers to the US

At a push possibly a style question as I want some lovely stylish flowers delivered.
Relative of mine in California has just had a truly horrible experience and I want to have some flowers delivered to her asap. I have been looking through online sites this afternoon, but am not sure who is trustworthy, it would sadden me if I send her a bunch of wilting blooms (I also need to be able to use paypal as I don't think one of my visa debit cards is going to cut much mustard in the credit card ridden US). So, have any of you sent flowers via any online services in the US with success?

No experience of an online provider i'm afraid but I sent some to a friend in Seattle recenty, I googled florists in the area and rang one direct, they couldn't have been more helpful and were happy to accept debit card. Flowers arrived very quickly and were apparently beautiful.

thanks gnatgnu. I have looked on interflora but the reviews seem very hit and miss for the international service. I shall give some local florists a ring.

I did the Sam as gnatgnu...googled for florists in the city my friend lives in. Found one that accepted online orders and paid by credit card. Flowers arrived on time and my friend was delighted with them.

yy, I always just call a local florist. Preferably one that seems quite small and isn't^ interflora - Explain what sort of thing I'm after ask what flowers they've got in at that time that are nice and get 'em to put a bouquet together for x-price. Pay by credit card. So far I've always ended up with much nicer bouquets than the nasty interflora ones, better value for money too.
