Shopping this afternoon, where to go in London

I have a couple of hours spare this afternoon, is it worth going to look at the end of sale stuff? I can either go to Oxford Street or Brompton Road/Kings Road. Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

My preference would always be Kings Road, but then I work on Oxford st and I have Oxford st fatigue and it's too crowded and full of tourists

I would go to Oxford St - you can check Top Shop/JohnLewis and the women's dept at Selfridges - they are minutes away from each other, plus you get all the concessions. Kings Road (used to live in Clapham and spend my Saturdays there pre DDs) is quite a trek around to get to all the different shops if you have limited time. Oxford St may be more relaxing?

AmberNectarine · 08/02/2013 08:41

Kings road, definitely. Can I come? :)

emacp · 08/02/2013 08:45

Selfridges, Selfridges and Selfridges!

Specialbrew · 08/02/2013 08:51

argggh! Confused now! I was debating John Lewis and Selfridges on Oxford Street vs Harvey Nichols and Harrods on Brompton Road. I don't like the crowds on OS, but I guess the choice is better ...on the other hand ... I was thinking that there might be some end of sale bargains in HN ...

Amber, you would be welcome but I suspect you would be a bad influence! I've also been left some money and was thinking about checking out Chanel too, Boy Bag vs 2.55. I can do that from either OS or BR though.

If you come to OS you can pop in to my office for a cuppa :o

chanie44 · 08/02/2013 09:03

I probably would go to Westfield shopping centre - much nicer than walking up and down Oxford street or kings road.

HeadFairy · 08/02/2013 09:05

Westfield is opposite my other office, I definitely have Westfield fatigue, though a friend of mine who lives in Chester came down recently and was raving about it. It's hard to get perspective when you go there so often as I do!

AmberNectarine · 08/02/2013 09:06

You can indeed! I would go Boy by the way, 2.55 very delicate and easily marked.

Specialbrew · 08/02/2013 15:00

Thanks all, what lovely ladies you are! Went to Kings road in the end, but didn't buy anything. Normally that would be a bad thing, but it made me realise that I don't really want anything at the moment. Went to Chanel, they seem to be all out boy bags, but the 2.55 in caviar leather lo

Oops ... the 2.55 in caviar with silver hardware looked pretty indestructible. Need to give it a lot more thought if I'm going to part with that much cash. Thanks again!
