spray tan and sea-swimming

Lucky me - I've been included on one of my husband's work jolly to Mexico.
I am a stone (okay nearly 2 stone) over my optimum weight so am thinking a spray tan will be needed to disguise the flabby thunder thighs and pasty winter Englishness.

Does anyone know if it will just come off in the sea. In which case I will arrive in the resort looking tanned and after 10 seconds in the sea will be a patchy mess??

Anyone able to advise?

I spray tan before I go on holiday and despite the horror stories, I've had no problems.

I have the tan the day before I go away, and do the wash off when I'm getting ready to leave for the airport.

I'd let it settle for a couple of days and just have quick dips, but you'll be fine do a bit of swimming after that. Your suntan lotion and after sun will keep it moisturised and looking lovely.

We are only going for 3 nights so I guess I could have it a couple of days before then. there will be mo time the day before we fly.

do you apply any self-tan like the palmers cocobutter one while you are on holiday?

I have very fair skin so no hope of a real tan ever let alone in 3 days.

For some reason it went patchy on me. I used the pool and went in the sea.

Wish I hadn't wasted my money on the spray tan.

hmm. What to do. I wonder if a self-tan then that I can reapply. trouble is I am a bit rubbish at the applying bit.
