Gone No Poo but Mad Dandruff!

I normally have the dreaded big D but used Head & Shoulders everyday which sort of kept it at bay.

I read about going 'no poo' as a way to sort the hair out and after about a week it was going ok except my scalp was really itchy and flaky. When I woke up in the mornings, my pillow looked like a flapjack.

I've started using Baking Soda this week as a shampoo substitute and I'm not sure if it really helping or not.

Surprisingly my hair hasn't gone greasy due to not using shampoo but my scalp is playing up. I've only been going two weeks or so. My hair is only about an inch long.

Any one got any tips on how to beat the dandruff? Also, if I do wash it with shampoo, does that take me back to the beginning (pre-no poo days) or does it just slow things down a bit?

Ideally I'd like to get to the stage where I can just wash it with water.

Thanks.

I tried the no-poo method and also had this problem. I went back to using shampoos with no SLS and that fixed it.
