my hair is finest of the fine and its doing my head in. i can't really style it as its too fine to do much with and i end up with whispy bits sticking out all over the place. my hair line actually looks like its receeding!

is there anything proven that works that i can do/take/eat/drink that will make my hair a bit thicker? or at least grow a bit quicker so that the whispy bits can grow longer and fill in some more head space.

ive tried these hair supplements but the huge doses of vitamin B12 made me really spotty

Get pregnant. I had nine hairs and a nit for 40 years. DD2 is now 12 months and I still have really thick hair. It's weird.

Sigh... Opposite of me GML, I had nice hair until the parasites sucked all the joy and life out of it Angry

I used one of the Kerastase sprays in the roots then blast with dryer upside down, I think it makes it a bit thicker.

Get some highlights. Really thickens hair. I have fine straight hair but LOADS of it. When I have highlights, I have to have it thinned or else it just sticks up off my head!

For hair growth I take solgar sea kelp (amazon is the cheapest I've found), brewers yeast (amazon again), MSM from solgar (amazon) and a multivitamin and a fish oil.

The brewers yeast has lots of trace minerals in it too. MSM makes you spotty for a few days but they clear up much quicker than normal.

Don't forget to ask your gp to rule out medical causes if your hairline is receding.

TK Maxx do Nioxin shampoo and conditioners that are meant to stop hair loss or there's that caffiene shampoo boots etc do which is also meant to stop hairloss.

Other than that its just good healthy living, your body won't waste protein and vitamins on hair if you don't eat well, it'll focus on the vital organs first to keep you alive.

Alpecin C1, that's the caffiene shampoo I was thinking of.
