Hoss Intropia - Have you heard of this make?

I have seen some of their clothes on Brand Alley, some of them look really nice, and in particular I really like a dress, which is £67. Now, I am not so bothered about it having been 'reduced' from £200+ as, well it's worth what yu are prepared to pay for it right? And I would not look twice at any dress at that price as I can't afford it! I have also been bitten by that before, buying a 'bargain' pair of what turned out to be £80 wellies Grin.

So, before I think about committing to this (for a wedding, it's a bit 'out there' for a wedding, but its the reception not the day affair, and I don't know them much, so I am happy to go with it), and bearing in mind I have just spent too much money online at Debenhams today, is this a Good Brand in terms of quality etc?

Is a dress by this brand worth this money?

I like the dress so much in fact, I might actually take ALL my debenhams things back, and buy this instead (well, to be fair, it wasn't all for me, so only my stuff will go back Wink).

And I have seen a top I like. Oh. No. I am feeling a Bit Too Free with the debit card. Thank Goodness I don't have a credit card.

Do you think DH will mind? really? if we have to eat beans on toast for a few weeks?/he has to pull some extra shifts at work this month?

I love their stuff, very nearly got married in one of their dresses. Don't understand why it's not a more well known name over here....

oooh in that case let's keep it that way, at least until I have decided if I want the dress. Or, rather, if I can persuade DH that I need the dress very, very badly Grin

I had never heard of them, but, pretty much all of their stuff, I would wear, it's unusual but not ugly, and not too unusual that I would look overdressed wearing it, can dress it up or down nicely I think, with just a little bit of Different. it's very much the kind of thing I like in fact. I am going to keep more of an eye out for their stuff I think.

that's not to say I think £67 is too much money to spend on a dress normally, I don't think it is, if it's going to be worn to a wedding for example and then lots afterwards. Just don't want to spend it before checking out whether it will or won't be a sack on me Grin

ray I might go take a look to see where it is stocked and take a look at the quality, will miss this dress as there is only 2 left, but I am prepared to do that, and if I like it, I can buy something next time, I am sure it will come up again, and the other clothes are also lovely so I will find something I am sure!

Unfortunately, no JL near us Sad

do you know...I never go in there. It's a really Crap Shop. Now, I am sure other JL are not. But that one, is so crap and over-priced I didn't even remember it was JL. And it doesn't even do proper children's clothes section.

i ventured into that JL a couple of weeks ago to buy a tumble dryer which has revolutionised our quality of life.

the boys didn't permit me to look at anything other than doorstops and computer games before i was whinged back out of the shop and home again.

I need a tumble dryer. Badly. Then I won't have clothes hung up all over the place. Also need a cleaner (we are actually getting one now though). I could do with a housekeeper really...

I think I just don't like that JL as it has very bad sales. Unlike say, Debenhams, which I just bought some stuff from. But even then these days I don't go into shops, it involves, like, walking places.

we've had clothes constantly around for the past 9 years.
since we've moved into our new damp-free house and got a tumble drier i'm off my inhalers!

Yes, Hoss are good - anything I've bought from them has lasted years. They are a Spanish company and it's worth looking out for the label if you're in Spain - it's generally cheaper there than at home.

loving the new house, mostly because of the central heating.

moon it's not til March, and I am mostly looking forward to it because it's in a posh place with yummy food. It is a colleague of DH so I don't really know him, but he and DH get on very well, so he has invited the whole family [crazy man]

The only prob I have is atm I am not walking v well due to back probs so either stooped, or using a crutch which I am not meant to be using as it is not good for back problems (but is the only way I can be mobile right now), and I need to consider if a) the crutch won't look too awful with it or b) if I ditch the crutch and hobble like an old woman, will it look awful with my butt sticking out and my boobs bent forward?! Grin And I do think this dress will manage both of those things quite well, not sure about the crutch, but can't say it's a fab look with any lovely dress. I shall put a bow on it Grin

That's a good idea if I am walking reasonably well. Problem is I use my hand and arm on the crutch, in particular, I grip the handle (sometimes like my life depends on it!) but, my friend has some canes, so I might give one or two a go and see if I can adjust. That would be cool!

Hoss Intropia was stocked by netaporter in the early days which I think is a sign of it being a decent brand. I guess it didn't sell well though as they pulled it after one or two seasons. I always think on that basis that the brandalley prices are probably decent value but I wouldn't pay full whack.
