Have you ever 'stretched' narrow shoes before?

Boots I have wanted for ages and saved up for have just arrived. They are lovely, all leather and leather lined. However one small problem they fit in length but are quite a narrow fit, especially at the front.

I've read online that it's possible to stretch shoes/boots with wooden shoe stretcher and stretching spray. Another article said that some cobblers will also do this professionally.

Have anyone used either of the above methods? If so does it work and are the shoes okay after- not damaged etc.

I used to work in a shoe shop and we had shoe stretchers. They looked like instruments of torture but they worked. I would try a cobbler as they know what they are doing.
