Hot date on saturday night, haven't a clue what to wear.

must be dark enough to wear on top of red underwearBlush
it's with dh and he's a sure thing anyway so don't need to impress too much but would like to surprise him!

is it drinking on the town or a nice meal? you lucky thing btw, dh and i are currently not speaking again Sad infact i can't remember the last time i went out! dress to stun i would say Grin can you tell i'm totally Envy

alexsmum · 25/04/2006 10:00

we haven't decided yet although we are booked into a posh hotel for the night!!! so the world is our oyster!
shellybellySadwhy aren't you speaking? why don't try and organise an evening out for the two of you as a making up and being friends gesture?

OP posts:
shellybelly · 25/04/2006 10:03

oh lets not talk about me otherwise i'll start bubbling Grin

on the choice of colours you could either go for black but how about a slinky red top and that way it conceals your red underwear. You probably don't want to do jeans, are you a skirt or trousers person?

alexsmum · 25/04/2006 10:05

definitely a trousers person.hardly ever wear a skirt-ever.
but maybe that would be good? element of surprise and all?

OP posts:
alexsmum · 25/04/2006 10:46

ok have had a look at some dresses and most seem to be spaghetti straps which is a big no no.
am floundering a bit here.
i usually just wear jeans and t-shirts.i really have no idea what would be a good thing to wear.i look around the shops and have no idea which of the clothes to even try on, iyswim?

OP posts:
shellybelly · 25/04/2006 10:52

jeans and a really slinky top perhaps Grin

alexsmum · 25/04/2006 10:53

def not jeans.
i always wear jeans.
i really want him to think'wow!' and if i wear jeans...it's too familiar.

OP posts:
shellybelly · 25/04/2006 10:58

I've seen wide leg smart troosers on the high street (check out the next website) sure they had some lovely ones in Grin

alexsmum · 25/04/2006 11:02

i'm being stupid aren't i?
i just want him to see me differently to the slopping about in jeans with no make up and messy hair woman he sees most days!
where's cod when you need her?

I would say dont wear trousers if you want to surprise him!

What about a long skirt and top...with some sparkle?

Wallis is good.

And get your hair done too!

Am going to check out the Wallis website now!

collision · 25/04/2006 11:11

There is a lovely green skirt in Wallis which would look fab with a black top and black shoes.

PandaG · 25/04/2006 11:11

No suggestions - just wanted to say whatever you wear I hope DH appreciates it, and you both have a fantastic hot date!

shellybelly · 25/04/2006 11:11

sorry AM, would be better help if I was in a better frame of mind Smile I'm sure whatever you do it will all come together and be fab Grin

kickassangel · 25/04/2006 11:16

go to a beauty counter & get your face done, if poss, do something with your hair - if you're not comfortable witha posh look, put in fancey grip in it. a long skirt would look good (i'm also tall, busty, curvy), or wide leg trousers (which you might wear again anyway, perhaps with something glittery/silky
trinny & susannah say never wear colour & black, but i disagree - black trousers & a red top can look fab if you have the right colouring - but not a bright red top, could look tarty (unless that's what you want him to think!) Smile
like shellybelly i'm Envy

alexsmum · 25/04/2006 12:25

my hair as far as the cut is fine.the salon where i get it done does a special deal on aaturday were they will style it and give you a manicure(it's the apprentices practicing) for £15{shock]
it looks best straightened so i thought i might get that done on saturday.but if i get my hair done then i won't be able to go in the hotel pool when we arrive!
i like the long skirt idea.
shelly you've been great help! i needed somebody to bounce ideas around with!

shellybelly · 25/04/2006 17:49

don't forget to let us know what you get and how your hot date went Grin

collision · 25/04/2006 21:15

what did you think of the green skirt AM?

alexsmum · 26/04/2006 14:18

i like it but it's dry clean only.
i don't do dry clean only.if i don't drop dinner on it then the baby will wipe his nose on it.
think i'll go shopping tomorrow and see what i can find.otherwise i'm going to dig my little black dress out.not trendy but nice anyway.
