Hi, I've never asked for advice on the fashion/style bit before, so be gentle with me :)

I am 4ft 11" and have a fuller figure.. am at WW so trying to lose the rubber ring above the waistband of jeans and the like.

My younger sister gets married in July and I want a nice dress to wear to it. I have no idea what shape of dress I would suit, as any I have tried on look awful, I look like I am pregnant in most of them,, and my youngest baby is 15months old!!

Please help me :(

Perhaps a wrap dress - phase 8 have a red one and warehouse have a sort of zebra print one.

I'm an apple shape and definitely find that wrap type dresses seem to suit me best (although I too am on a mission to find the perfect shape). I find that dresses that require a belt or too tight a fastening around the waist do not define, they just make me look pregnant. Dresses that are quite fitted in the bodice, rouched around the tummy area, and flaring out to a slightly a-line skirt flatter.

Will watch this thread with interest....

some lovely things at monsoon - in the smart dresses section of the website - the flo applique dress or the chrysanthemum black and white dress (not sure if big prints are good though if you are not tall). or principles seems to have some great stuff this season, very elegant, and i know that they have a petite collection.

what sort of colours do you like and what sort of look do you want?

fireflyfairy2 · 25/04/2006 10:50

I like most colours, I am pale and I have darkish hair. The only colour I can't go for is a goldy/natural colour (I beleive it is called champagne) for obvious reasons.
Wink

I think maybe something not too bright either.. I hate standing out from the crowd. I looked on principals and found a dress with a square neck line and a belt in the middle but not sure the belt would suit me at all Blush

Grumpy, I love the 2 dreses!! I wonder if it would be worth ordering them to see what they are like in the comfort of my own home :)
