Occasionwear for young toddlers?

My DD, who will be 20mo has been invited to the wedding of a close family member in April. I'm looking for something for her to wear. As it is someone close to us I'd like it to be something special, but I'm just not inspired by most of the partywear I've seen, it's all kind of flouncy and flowergirl-ish. She is not in the wedding party and I really don't want it to look like I had some sort of secret desire for her to be in the wedding party. She is also bald and chunky, and looks odd in these fluffy princess dresses!

I'm not really sure what I'm asking for here but if anyone has seen anything a bit 'different' but still special, please do link-spam me!

rachel riley does great sales

here

or Alex and alexa also has a pretty good sale on - although a lot of flouncy stuff to wade through...

voila

Thanks Linwin, there is some lovely stuff on each one, definitely some contenders there. Love the heart print dress on the Rachel Riley site!

I like I love Gorgeous which is pricey, but some good sales prices at the moment. Might be a bit fluffy for your taste, but definitely not bridesmaidish. I love the green and the hot pink colours

White company has a nice sequined jersey dress in the sale at the moment which I might get for my DD

Websites like smallable and Little Fashion Gallery are great for everything and both have sales on at the moment. Don't be put off by the clothes shipping from France - I ordered some stuff from Little Fashion Gallery and from H&M on the same day and got the French parcel a good few days before the English one. The service is excellent and there's a fab choice (and it's not all expensive). Marie Chantal also have beautiful things, but in finest silks etc they are pricey.

I really like the traditional dresses at trotters.co.uk. They are not too expensive and wash well. My girls wore them when they were little for weddings.

Poppy's Children do beautiful dresses with lovely hand drawn prints on them, they come with a story book too. I can't link as I'm on my ipad but they have their own website and are stocked in John Lewis. I'm also quite partial to their women's dresses!

No added sugar or Their Nibs do some nice stuff.

I love Catimini, but it is a bit expensive.

Thanks so much everyone, I had Googled and hadn't seen almost all of these. I really like the Eloise dress on Trotters and there are some really gorgeous ones on some of the other websites too.

Now to make up a shortlist and run them all past DH... he has Views on this sort of thing Wink
