has anyone done it?
can you advise if it works?

i've been looking into the 'yuko' method..it looks pretty good.

my hair can handle it as i didnt dye it when pregnant and have only had highlights since and theyve almost grow n out so it's in good condition.

it's currently past shoulder length, boring brown and well, just, boring..and i wanta new slick hairstyle and don't have time/inclination to bring out the straighteners everyday

I have had this done twice, but in Japan with the Yuko Method, not here. It was very expensive, but worth it. It worked on my very wavy, thick and coarse hair. You are supposed to go for touch-ups every three months, but I didn't bother. It lasted about nine months or so, though the curl started showing at the roots after about six months. You do have to have strong hair though; some of my friends with thinnner hair than mine have had hair loss after straightening.
I don't think it's a good idea to economise because it's quite a complicated process and if done by a untrained hairdresser, can burn your scalp or damage your hair.
