eyeliner for the very pale skinned, very pale eyed?

Looking at various photos, I have finally realised that no black or brown eyeliners look good on me. They just make me look tired and emphasise even the most successfully concealed dark circles. What other colours should I be trying or should I just give up on eyeliner? I have milk white skin and very pale grey/blue eyes.

Mac powersurge is a lovely bronze that's not too yellow.

Maybe try some soft taupe/grey eyeshadow on an angled small brush?

I have pale skin, blue eyes and quite delicate features I've been told. I find many look too harsh on me, but I like Laura Mercier caviar liner in Violet Asphalt or Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in Smoke used as a soft liner.

thanks I will try MAC powersurge Iatemyskinnyperson. Will also try pale grey and taupe eyeshadows (why hadn't I thought of that!).
