What do you wear to socialise in?

By this I mean going out with friends, for meals, cinema, going out for a drink? Something a bit nicer than day stuff but not too dressy???

I wear jeans/soft jacket thing/nice top/pumps : but then I know nothing about style-if I was going out out it would be high shoes possibly dress.

cinema keep it casual skinny jeans, longline cardi, naice blouse and smart ankle boots or flat pumps.
Drinks/ meal smart skinny jeans, smart blouse, heels, faux fur or leather jacket and accessories.
special night out sexy dress, clutch, accessories and killer heels.

Cinema - Skinny jeans, Breton, Scarf, heeled ankle boots, maybe a blazer. Satchel bag.

Drinks - Slim fit black trousers, cream lace top, black suede heels, leather clutch

Dress up Dinner - LBD, opaques, suede heeled shoe boots, red lipstick

almost all social occasions = flat boots, opaque tights, day dress, cardigan.

more special occasions = flat boots, opaque tights, slightly smarter dress, slightly smarter cardigan.

It's good in that I always look ok, and it doesn't take me a long time to get ready, but on the other hand there are times (mainly when everyone else has made more effort) where I feel a bit frumpy and 'meh'.

Changes with the season but at the moment, with the cold weather over the past couple of months, I have been wearing sweater dresses and boots with heels for dinner out with dh. I do business lunches/dinners and I have a couple of LK Bennett body con type dresses that I wear. They're gorgeous but totally unforgiving so no stuffing yourself! Theatre/Cinema - have some lovely cowl necked tops from Kaliko and Phase 8 been teeming those with Ralph Lauren jodphurs, Banana Republic Martin trousers, and Theory trousers.

For cinema, usually nice top with my gap skinny jeans (either always skinny or high rise skinnies) or banana republic skinny cords and flat high boots (Aquatalia).
