I've got some Diva mini-beach wave tongs. Really like the effect (I use it mainly to give volume), but it absolutely fries my hair (which is very fine and coloured). Have any of you got the Babyliss root-boost crimping irons? If so, does it dry your hair out? Do you think it would fry very fine hair? My hairdresser told me to try heat-protecting spray before using the beachwave tongs but it doesn't prevent the straw-like appearance I get from using them.
