Anything worth having?

OP posts:
ItalianJob · 23/04/2006 17:20

brown cord military style jacket for £12. Otherwise not very impressed with recent Primark.

Spagblog · 23/04/2006 17:21

Do you find Primark has a strange smell?

MrsBadger · 23/04/2006 17:43

got a linen suit on Easter Saturday, but absolutely 0 else worth having.

Gap mid-season sale worth a look though - cord pencil skirts (for next winter with boots) £10 a pop.

ShowOfHands · 23/04/2006 17:43

Bought a nice waistcoat from there, but about 4 weeks ago. I usually can't stand it in there. It has to be a run in, run out job while it's quiet or I start to hyperventilate and froth at the mouth.

jac34 · 23/04/2006 17:56

I normally only go in there for socks for me,and cheap shorts for the boys to roll around the park in, but I bought a lovely bead necklace with shells on it,a week or two ago, only £2.50.

sarahhal · 23/04/2006 18:15

A spotty scarf for 2.50 so that i can pretend i'm a trendy young thing who actually knows how to knot a scarf without looking like an arse!

Milliways · 23/04/2006 18:19

My 15yr DD got a fab Military style size 8 Jacket for £5. It's great for teenagers.

Lucycat · 23/04/2006 18:43

fabric 1980's style belt, y'know with the flat buckle, for £1, linen mix chocolate coloured trousers for £6 and arse flattering jeans for £10!!

rummum · 23/04/2006 18:51

I brought a pair of jeans for £10... and a cream/white pair also for £10...
[whispers] (are they in)?

welshboris · 23/04/2006 19:00

white jeans are IN, skinny, straight leg
Wear with ballet pumps or wedges (too cold to wear white yet though according to Cod)

rummum · 23/04/2006 19:07

Oh good.. they wouldn't have sold them if they weren't in fashion would they! Smile

motherinferior · 23/04/2006 19:09

I felt v middle aged as everything looked like cheap tat to me. Too much limp cotton jersey, not enough cotton prints.

welshboris · 23/04/2006 19:21

I rarely go there MI, but if you have a good look you can get some good finds

Rainbow · 23/04/2006 19:26

Tesco Cherokee worth looking at at the moment. Got some nice stuff for my hols. Cheap too. Filled the trolley with clothes and only spend about £80 on all four of us.

welshboris · 23/04/2006 19:27

And george at asda for anyone looking for cheap kids clothes for summer, shorts and tshirts for £1.50

I've found lovely things in Primark before, including one of my favourite cotton print skirts. That's why I felt so damn middle aged yesterday at all the limp jersey.

They had some lovely linen coats last week. I wanted one in pale blue but they didn't have my size left

nixnoo · 24/04/2006 18:27

I bought a great pair of white pseudo-Birkenstocks - real leather. Only £6 - can't go wrong!

ja9 · 24/04/2006 23:21

waswondering - rofl at 'funny smell, slightly combustible'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sarahhal · 25/04/2006 08:34

Think the smell is the highly toxic plastic that most of the bags, belts and shoes are made out of!!!

I got some of those Birkenstock style sandals last year and they are fab!
