Fed up of being cold!

So I have it seems finally reached the point in my life where I need to be warm rather than trendy! I'm cold-I have a couple of 'winter coats' but they are fashiony topshop/Zara numbers and more style over warmth.
I think I'd be best with a down filled outdoorsy coat -rab style..problem is I am skint :( Any suggestions for cheaper (but still super warm) alternatives? I would also be happy with secondhand but have scoured local charity shops and found nothing suitable.

Wear thermals under your stuff instead. Makes a huge difference

Hitech thermals from Uniqlo. They can be plain/discreet or really funky. In any case, they are extremely warm.

I think you should save (I know no good for now) and get a down coat -- they are warmer. I like the ultra light weight down from places like Uniqlo.

Maybe a search on ebay?

I have a lovely spotty thermal top from uniqlo which is excellent. I think saving for next year is a good idea! I've searched eBay but my size (12) seems very popular and it's clearly the worst time to be looking

TK Maxx clearance might be a good place to look at? They had millions of down coats earlier in the season

I have this. It's lovely. Not out of place on the high street or in the actual outdoors.
