Please help me to find something to wear to bed on my wedding night

I am not a naked person, so 'nothing' is not an option.

I usually wear flannel pyjama bottoms and a t-shirt, but I recognise flannel is not the sexiest of fabrics and my nearly husband has indicated he'd like to see me in something special.

I would have bought in silver. But I chickened out because I worried that the silk would highlight all of my less than ideal bits, of which there are many, and now it's sold out. However, I do like the idea of it and a lovely, tactile fabric like silk would be appealing.

I am 5'9", size 12-14 and wear a 32F bra, so I'm especially concerned about my chest looking unwieldy. However, I do intend to sleep in this, so it needs to be comfortable and relatively unstructured. I'm not looking for risqué lingerie with suspenders and whatnot.

Any thoughts on where I could find something like this? I am really not a sexy person, so the world of slinky nightwear is foreign to me!

Well I think that's a lovely nightie. I'm a flannel PJs sort of girl, but only cos I feel the cold. What I would say is 'forget your worries about your body'! Has soon to be DH SEEN you naked? Because if so, he'll be quite happy with what you look like - he knows what he's getting. And if not - then you are the only naked lady in that room and he'll be far too pleased that you are there to be 'comparing' you with anyone else mentally. Please don't worry about your chest/less than ideal bits. Being confident in your skin is far, far sexier than anything else, believe me.

Oh, he has seen me naked! That ship sailed several years ago. But I tend to avoid it as much as possible because I feel quite self conscious. I struggle to change in front of him and I worry he'll be repulsed by my stomach and thighs. I must stress that these are entirely my hang ups. He would be very pleased with a greater amount of nudity, but I can't get there mentally.

Frumpy is not good for a wedding night.

Bumping. Haven't spotted anything yet but am also getting married soon and am the same bra size as you so know how awkward that is in a nightwear sense .

I just think that a slip of silk with no structure could look most unflattering if you've got wobbly bits as, it would cling to them.

Maybe something with a more structured bra bit?

No worries, Porkster. What you've identified is exactly why I was concerned about it. I just pictured all my awful parts in stark relief, when I'd intentionally bought something to cover them up!

Hetaera, that second one is gorgeous. I think that could be it. The price is right as well, considering I might have doubled gone slightly over my dress budget.

On my wedding night I collapsed and slept. No chance of anything happening apart from zzzzz! Was 5 months pregnant so not looking my best. After a 20 hour day you might not care what you are wearing!

Why not add a nice robe to go over a chemise? Something like this although for polyester you might want something cheaper.

Then you can slip into it as soon as you are out from the covers, and cover yourself up a bit although I'm sure your DF thinks you look lovely.

And yes, on my wedding night DH spent forever undoing my dress, I wasn't for getting into more clothes.

I didn't buy it - they didn't have the nork size I needed, but iirc it didn't feel hideous either.
