I've got a horrible big boil of a spot on its way, what can I do?

In my experience these buggers last for ages and hurt. I've felt it coming ever since I woke this morning and my chin is getting redder and redder.

Is there anything I can do to reduce it? Stop it hurting? Stop it scaring???

Aspirin mask. Crush an aspirin with a little warm water in an egg cup and put it on spot, leave it to dry for as long as poss, repeat when you can
