If so what do you use ? I get mines waxed but with a new baby I'm struggling to get it done as often so was thinking of bleaching between waxes .

I used to but then I realised that a blonde moustache isn't really any better than a dark one, sorry! I got mine lasered, amazing!

AlphaAndEcho · 18/01/2013 18:16

Oooh how was the lasering ? I'm getting the done too but they won't do it until 6 months after giving birth (roll on June !!)

So I'm just biding time until I can get it done. What bleach did you use ?

I use Nair sensitive on my upper lip, people have looked askance at the 'chemicals on face' thing, but if you don't leave it too long I've found it fine. Waxing either rips off my skin or brings me out in spots the next day. And no hair on upper lip is better than banana yellow moustache!

BunnyLebowski · 18/01/2013 18:18

Don't do it.

A brunette acquaintance of mine does and she has a glaringly obvious silky blonde tache.

Not a good look.

merlottits · 18/01/2013 18:25

Do not do this. Some blind strange women do this and somehow think they are 'disguising their facial hair. They are not. They are just now sporting a thick blonde tache instead of a brown one.
There is a nurse on a ward in the hospital I work at who is very dark, think Mediterranean. She has black hair, eyebrows, eye lashes and a thick blonde moustache.

Sadly a laughing stock. Sorry. Remove said superfluous hair.

interested in the lasering - I don't have many yet, and tweezer them, but am wo ering if this is a bad idea? Am slightly nervous of lasering, as I had it done on my legs about 13 years ago - first few times were fine, then had a new girl who managed to burn my legs, and the skin on the knees and ankles still hasn't properly recovered Sad

I do but i genuinely have very very little so it hardly shows even if I don't bleach it.

I must admit, when a friend tried it it really did look awful, but I promise it looks good on me!

I had it lasered but it was too fair (not bleached at that point) to have any effect. Hmm

MousyMouse · 18/01/2013 18:33

electric lady shaver...
in my defence I don't have a 'tache but a few dark hairs

MrsSalvoMontalbano · 18/01/2013 18:39

does anyone still do electrolysis or has it been superseded by lasering?

Pinkflipflop · 18/01/2013 20:45

this is what you need, I have it and its amazing!!

DoITellTheTeacher · 18/01/2013 20:52

Learn to thread - lots to videos on youtube - it only takes a few minutes to keep it all in check and much cheaper and easier - all you need is some regular thread.

Deathwatchbeetle · 19/01/2013 10:23

Noooo. Couldn't. I was standing at a bus stop when an Aussie girl came up to me - brown haired with an obvious blonde German porn star moustache. I was fascinated by it!!!!

AlphaAndEcho · 20/01/2013 12:32

Thanks for the advice I am definitely not planning on bleaching as a log term solution it's only for between waxes until I am able to get it lasered . It's not actually my upper lip it's chin hairs Blush

I do a twenty second tweeze of any strays every couple of days after cleansing. Quick, cheap and no moustache.

Diamondcassis · 20/01/2013 16:43

Just looked up threading on youtube, locked myself in bathroom, winced a bit, experimented with both cotton thread & dental floss, retuned literally 20 mins later to sofa TACHE-FREE

Diamondcassis · 20/01/2013 16:44

Returned

Murraylover · 20/01/2013 16:57

Thinning & bleaching is the only long term answer. Or risk the waxing/epilators & waking up one day looking like David Bellamy?

zenoushka · 20/01/2013 17:35

Can completely recommend threading! I get my upper lip done and chin done every 2 weeks. Bleaching really doesn't work - just gives you a blond tache!
