that's you just as much as it was my arse in those 7s yesterday

harpsichordcarrier · 21/04/2006 09:27

oooooh
nice
blue mascara though =- wtf is that about??

puff · 21/04/2006 09:27

lol

thing is, dontcha find that most ads for mascaras make the elusive promise of long, completely separated lashes, then when you get the stuff home it's shoite. It's difficult to test in the shop too cos the testers have always dried out and been pumped to death.

I am liking Ultimeyes by Dior at the mo. got the dark purple and its fab.

Apparently Diorshow is brill (lots of good reviews on Makeupalley) so will make that my next mascara purchase.

cod · 21/04/2006 09:28

I agree puff, mascara is one of life's great disappointments

puff · 21/04/2006 09:31

I'm spending more time on there than mumsnet now - not graduated to posting yet, am thinking my transformation to shallow airhead would be finally complete Grin

ggglimpopo · 21/04/2006 09:52

I use the chanel dark blue and tis very good. Have lots of mascaras. Current fave is YSL, either in black or very dark olive green.

On the subject, saw a girl yesterday with smokey eyes done with eyeshadow. Anyone here over 35 wear eyeshadow or do you think I will just look like past-sell-by-date ground crew?

soapbox · 21/04/2006 09:55

I always use Lancome mascara - mixture of defencils and hypnoise atm. My eyelashes are long enough, but poker straight - still seeking the magical mascara that curls them as well as they do in all the magsGrin

flutterbee · 21/04/2006 09:57

Do not get the Loreal double ended one (white one side black the other) it is total rubbish clumpy and nasty.

I use the Boujois one its fab and really does work.

puff · 21/04/2006 12:08

I like the sound of the dark green mascara from YSL ggg.....

I wear eyeshadow if i'm going out in the evening - applied well it looks good, but i tend to stick to matte colours now I am a little ahem...mature.

Otherwise it's just mascara with maybe eyeliner during the day.

GDG · 21/04/2006 12:14

Alwyas get Lancome mascara too - I always get black though, never really thought about getting colours. dark purple sounds nice.

puff · 21/04/2006 12:17

The most amazing mascara I ever had was a Lancome one but it was discontinued about 15 years ago Angry. The wand had no bristles on it. It was fantastic, never found one to match it's standard since grrr.

welshmum · 21/04/2006 12:25

Puff - I've got Diorshow and it is quite pleasing...not 'the' answer though.
I've got a mac one at the moment that I'm getting along quite well with.

ggglimpopo · 21/04/2006 12:28

Is it Benefits who have just brought out a new curly mascara? I also have long straight eyelashes and if I use thickener ones I look like a giraffe having an off day.

puff · 21/04/2006 16:43

As I was passing a dept store this pm Grin....I popped in and tried on the YSL green mascara - lovely - its a deep olive green exactly the same colour as my eyes. Very impressed and will definitely buy when I can justify buying another mascara!

puff · 21/04/2006 16:45

oh, I also tried the Diorshow in black - wow - I had lashes I didn't know existed! The brush is huge though - how long have you had yours welshmum and is it as good after a month or so? I find so many of them dry out and go clumpy quite quickly, except the Dior Ultimeyes I have.

MillionDollarBaby · 21/04/2006 16:47

I'm a Lancome Mascara gal.

Radley · 21/04/2006 16:58

I use this and won't change to any other now, its fabulous.

sweetmonkey · 21/04/2006 17:03
