What do you wear on your legs in this cold weather? My little legs are freezing, and I need a solution!

Thermal tights / fleece lined tights.

coraltoes · 16/01/2013 10:31

Just normal black tights.

Bunbaker · 16/01/2013 10:31

Thick tights or leggings and socks, plus boots. I don't go bare legged in this weather - the red sausage leg look isn't an attractive one.

MirandaWest · 16/01/2013 10:32

Tights and boots. Sometimes socks on top of the tights.

ISingSoprano · 16/01/2013 10:37

Tights and boots.

lurkingaround · 16/01/2013 10:39

Thick tights. ATM I like Tesco, I think they're called Velvet or summat like that, 140 Denier. (Recommended here on S&B). I've tried loads this winter and so far they're the best.

Primark do heavy tights with a boot sock built in, IYKWIM, haven't tried them, I find Primark ones fall down, but it sounds like a great idea.

iMe · 16/01/2013 10:49

Choose opaque tights with a very high denier. Knee high boots. Sometimes leggings over tights for school run (walk). Uniqlo do heattech tights I want to try.

GraduallyGoingInsane · 16/01/2013 11:14

For work - opaque black tights, boots with socks on the way to work and change into shoes once there.

At weekends - woollen tights in black, grey, navy or brown (dependant on dress/skirt) with chunky knit cream socks peeking out of the tops of my boots. If it's really cold at weekends, I sometimes wear black leggings as tights (often with real tights underneath).

slug · 16/01/2013 11:25

And a long coat to cover the top of the skirt to boot top gap.

NickECave · 16/01/2013 11:30

Woolen tights or thick leggings with knee high boots. I very rarely wear jeans and my legs are much warmer now than when I wore jeans all the time.

Absy · 16/01/2013 11:32

The warmest combo is definitely tights + leggings. Maybe too warm

Bunbaker · 16/01/2013 11:47

Tights and leggings! I would struggle to pull on a pair of leggings over a pair of tights.

luckywinner · 16/01/2013 11:52

Laughing at bunbaker thinking of bare legs in this weather! I wear 80 dernier tights but my legs are still super cold. I will try leggings with tights and I ove the idea of fleece tights. Where can I find these miracle tights? I have tried uniqlo thermal ones, they were ribbed and they made me itch.

Woolly tights - much warmer than jeans.

iMe · 16/01/2013 13:56

luckywinner that's good to know about the uniqlo thermal tights...now these fleece-lined tights sound good!

joliejolie · 16/01/2013 14:06

Primark sock tights are fab! They are nice and warm, but they don't last as long as other brands. Still okay though, because they are cheap!

GetOrf · 16/01/2013 14:14

Another fan of Primark sock tights.

Or any 140 denier type.

I think tights are far warmer than a pair of trousers anyway.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/01/2013 18:08

Normal tights. Socks. Knee high or ankle boots.

Downfall · 16/01/2013 19:59

Primark have fleece lined tights, very soft and warm. I thought that level of comfort was reserved for newborns Smile
