Where to buy jeans for a short leg?

Can anyone advise before I plan a shopping trip to refresh my very weary and badly fitting pre-baby wardrobe?

Where should I be looking for jeans and trousers in a short leg length? Also ones that are not too low in the waist - cant be doing with bulging in the tummy region now.

Next are good for short-arses but I can't find any high-waisted jeans for love nor money

I agree it is very annoying with post-baby crepe flap hanging over your low waistband

bramblina · 20/04/2006 20:56

For a really short leg Debenhams do one, can't remember the make but it's a lady's name...just flicking through the next directory tonight and they have some high waisted jeans in it!

skerriesmum · 20/04/2006 20:56

Dorothy Perkins have a good range of different fits (I'm a cheapass and never spend much on clothes!)

saffy202 · 20/04/2006 20:58

I usually buy from next but my last two pairs have been from Dorothy Perkins. Not the petite range just the 'short' leg option:)

Per Una at M and S

tiredemma · 20/04/2006 21:12

ive got some lovely high waisters from dorothy perkins.

Hazellnut · 20/04/2006 21:17

monsoon if you want to spend a fair-ish amount. Cheapy ones from matalan (28 inch leg so shorter than next), m&s, tesco....

bumbleweed · 20/04/2006 22:12

I tried dp today - their jeans look ok and the leg length is perfect - its just the unattractive midriff. ext were the same - but I havent looked at full range - will check directory. Its not that I want high-waisted as such, just not quite as low!!

Thanks will try per una and monsoon.

A good website to have a look at is ilovejeans.com. You can put in your body shape and it will suggest the best jeans for you, including different leg lengths. Obviously doesn't include every make but lots of suggestions at different prices.

hulababy · 20/04/2006 22:16

Monsoon do petite size jeans.

Tortington · 20/04/2006 22:16

dorothy perkins do fab stuff for short people

bubble99 · 20/04/2006 22:18

Sorry, bumbleweed, but I have an image of a single short leg hopping into a shop and asking for some jeans.

Time I went to bed, perhaps??

milward · 20/04/2006 22:27

Landsend on their www site have high waist trousers in different leg lengths - fab! I need trousers at the waist & the pairs I have are great!

Luggs · 21/04/2006 09:14

Levis do a 30 inch leg. Also get jeans taken up if you really like them and they are too long - department stores such as John Lewis or Selfriges do alterations on jeans.

crunchie · 21/04/2006 09:27

Monsoon :)

crunchie · 21/04/2006 09:27

Monsoon :)

bumbleweed · 21/04/2006 19:53

excellent - lots of top tips - I had no idea you could get jeans taken up by stores - obviously if you try it at home it looks totally crap!

will try landsend and ilovejeans - thanks for those suggestions

and will visit monsoon tomorrow

lol at that image bubble Grin

Got some great jeans from New Look - only £15 (called hula?) they do 3 leg lengths but stick to standard rise ... I tried on some "ultra low" and it wasn't pretty ... Blush
