Do you 'outfit plan' in the style of menu planning?

Just canvassing S & B to see if anyone does this.
If so does it help time saving and general efficiency in the morning?

I have a work wardrobe consisting of 6 black dresses. I only work 3 days a week. No planning required other than making sure all clean and on hangers (no ironing required either as mostly dry clean or wash and hang)
On non work days I have plenty of time to choose an outfit

Yes....but I'm not sure how helpful that is Grin. I menu plan by opening the fridge/cupboard door about half an hour before we eat and thinking, 'Oh blimey - what have we got that possibly goes with what else we have?' This has resulted in us eating a classic of 'Sweet and Sour Fishfinger Spaghetti' in the past.

Similarly when outfit planning I open the wardrobe 10 mins before I'm due out the door and find, say, navy dress. I then discover I only have black tights, and the only shoes I can find both of are green. Grin.

Sometimes I put out my clothes for work the next day, but often I don't worry about it.

However, my clothes are all from just a few colour families so coordinating is not a problem.

I find it useful to put out the breakfast things when I have an early start!

I've started to do this, yes. Look at weather forecast on a Sunday evening, put together 5 outfits for the week. It not only saves me a lot of time in the morning but I wear more of my clothes in more different combinations, because I actually have time to think about it. I don't get bored so quickly and I like having a different look each day.

This could be a revelation for my mornings, off to do the rest of the week now!

Hoping I might get to work on time and looking half decent!

Will report back, hopefully saying I have swanned out the house looking like I've stepped out of vogue (long shot)!

I've just thought this morning that I will start making a note of what I wear on a Wednesday, when I teach a course. This has been brought about by wearing a nice dress and being filmed for a training DVD. Months later I was brought in by another organisation to do a training day, and the DVD was shown as part of the training. I was mortified when I realised I had the same dress and scarf on in the DVD that I was wearing that day - e.g. looked like I only had one outfit. Blush

I have an enormous amount of clothes that I wear for work, so felt unreasonably cross at myself. And yes, all the participants noticed! So, if I keep a note it might not happen again....

I also think this about what I wear when I go out with friends/ dinner etc, as I get stuck on things I love, rather than rotating what I have, but I can never remember what I wore when I last saw them. Not that they'd mind! I can see it's my problem!

I usually have a think about it last thing when I am laying in bed feeding the baby (like I am now). I haves just decided I want to wear my DVF wrap top tomorrow, so now I'm trying to think of what will go with it.

I tend to put out my clothes the night before on work days as never feel that enthusiastic to pick anything out at 6.30am when getting ready for work. I never plan more than one day ahead, but as I am a bit slack with regards to laundry and ironing I am pretty much guaranteed to go through a fair few outfits before anything reoccurs. I am guilty of repeating the same shoes far too often though. Don't really plan these and then get into a real shoe (or more accurately during winter, boot) rut.

And I would have to get up earlier in the morning if I didn't plan...decisions are harder at that time plus there's always the risk last minute ironing might be required.

I have started ironing and hanging up five outfits on a Sunday when I do dd,s school uniform. Most of my trousers and tops are generally mix and match so I do have some choice.

I agree, there is no way that I could be bothered to plan an outfit in the morning.

Sunday evening I hang out 5 outfits with shoes, accessories and underwear. In the evening I will paint my nails etc to match the outfit.

As I teach I need to consider which days I am in duty, what I am doing in class, if I have any meetings etc. I actually have a little board in my dressing room to note down such info.

I am a tad anal.

When it gets lighter I cycle into work, so I have a second wardrobe in my office so I can get changed when I get into work! I bring all my outfits in on a Monday in the car.

I am known for being a bit mad!

I don't do this as yet but I did think about it just the other day! I find it so much easier when I menu plan so I had a revelation that the same might work for clothes.

I am a bit staggered that some of you coordinate your nail polish with your outfit, let alone write it down in advance!

Thinks about getting clothes-related whiteboard..,

I do....sort of. Not the whole week's worth in one go, though.

If I go for an early morning run I like to plan what I'm going to wear for that day - it takes my mind off the pain (for a few minutes at least). Or I might lie in bed and think of something I haven't worn for a while (for example, tomorrow I've already decided I'm going to wear a black jersey dress, because it's going to be another cold day).

If I don't decide ahead of time I can end up dithering in front of the wardrobe for ages.

I plan the night before, put everything out and for January I am keeping a note of what I wear each day as I am to do a clear out at the of the month and want to see what i actually use the most.

V impressed with the matching nail varnish to outfits!

I don't write my nail colors in advance but if I am doing them myself rather than at the salon they have usually chipped by the end of the day and certainly the second day, so they would need redoing anyway.

I am an oddbod though with control issues. I am convinced that because I know I have the issues it is OK.
