My hair has gone lifeless and dull - what new shampoo please?

I've tried various shampoos and lately my hair looks really dull and lifeless and after three days is starting to look awful, whereas before it would look at its best three days after a shampoo. Could anyone please recommend a rejuvenating and revitalising shampoo - am thinking along the lines of Kerastase (sp?) or similar as have read good things about it. My hair is very thick, collar length and home dyed. TIA.

have you tried using a clarifying shampoo, they get rid of build up and can often revitalise hair so that your usual shampoo works again, Nutrogena do a good one,

I have totally different hair to you but do use kerastase but have been very impressed with the dove shampoos - there's lots of different ranges and they are very very cheap as always seem to be on offer.

Would washing it more often help? Hormones do seem to make a difference to hair and may be you need to wash it more frequently at the moment.

I also think its good to switch and vary shampoos as they seem to stop working so well if you use the same one all the time.

Thanks for your replies. StepAway - where do you buy the Nutrogena one as it sounds to be the answer. The only place I can see is Amazon from the US but is there another source please?

Someone on here recommended hair fix and I must say it's v good. I got the tester set of 3 products and use it roughly once a week/fortnight and find it really helps degunk my hair. You can only get it online but I think it's pretty good as an occasional cleanser routine type thing

I got some in Boots I think but It was ages ago. there are several other sorts around though so worth trying whatever you find. Once the build up is gone use it weekly or so to keep the hair clean and try to avoid shampoos and conditioners with silicones in. Though my hairdresser did say it doesn't matter what you put on your hair as long as you have a good shampoo to get it all out Grin

Update: I ordered the Neutrogena clarifying shampoo and it has sorted my hair out, so thanks very much for the tip. It took a couple of weeks to arrive from the States but has been worth the wait. Thanks again.
