I am overweight, and while I am going to rejoin SW soon, I will probably not lose as much as I would like by my wedding at some point this year.

I have a pic on my profile. I am wearing a maxi dress in the pic and I do feel comfortable and flab hiding in them.

I want a gold coloured dress, preferably old gold colour. My DDs will be wearing ivory.

Can you help?

I am skint btw

ruched and draped
glitzy but simple
not gold but worth a look

Too pricey? Under budget?

notMarlene · 08/01/2013 23:42

one more

tethersend · 08/01/2013 23:46

What size/budget?

tethersend · 08/01/2013 23:50

Love the Biba one.

My mil wedding dress was from Debenhams. She looked fantastic in it, and she was 62 when she got married.

My favourite so far

The draping on the phase eight make the model look like she's got a 6 month bump, I thought.

I had a dress made for my measurements in a maxi/Grecian style for a ball once. It cost 200 and was posted to me, I emailed my measurements to a diagram. It took about 3 weeks. Would you like me to dig out the details?

I still have the dress, but it's chocolate brown. You'd be welcome to it, and could have it adjusted - if you had a change of heart on the colour. Smile

Binfullofresolutionsfor10thjan sounds lovely, yes please, if it isn't too much trouble.

tethersend, you really are on a mission to help aren't you.

Sorry, I am a size 26 atm. May get down to a 22.

notMarlene · 09/01/2013 00:32

this (same colour range) is my favourite of theirs, not a maxi though.
this too traditional? (same again colour wise)

MammaTJ · 09/01/2013 00:33

MammaTJ · 09/01/2013 00:34

That second one is gorgeous too. I have quite a nipped in waist for a fatty, that may suit very well.

sorry, was ooh

Love that first one.

notMarlene · 09/01/2013 00:44

Whatever dress you go for and wherever it comes from, I'd strongly recommend buying a size (or two) up and having it altered to fit to perfection. Makes a massive difference.

this would be fab with the first dress
ooh] and this with the second
I adore the combs she does too. here, here

notMarlene · 09/01/2013 00:44

ahem and this with the second

MammaTJ · 09/01/2013 00:54

Definitely not pearls. I have decided on gold because I have an amber and gold necklace that I adore. I shall probably make and amber and gold (coloured) tiara to go with it.

Oh wow! That sounds beautiful Grin I adore amber too.

Do you have the dresses for your DDs already?

MammaTJ · 09/01/2013 01:06

No, but I have soem thoughts for the youngest. She is 7 but in age 8-9.

DD1 is 17 and will probably choose her own and get my aproval and payment, which I am ok with as she has a fabulous sense of style.

For DD2, this or maybe this
