For the last few years I've been dying my hair myself until a few months ago When i decided that it wasn't looking great and I fancied a change so I had it done at the local hairdressers, I went for highlights with a colour to cover up the greys. The hairdresser did it all in one go and I've had it done three times now each time costing a lot so it was decided that I'd go more frequently one time to do the colour and cut and the next time highlights and cut.
The problem I have is that I'm not too impressed with the way he cuts my hair so I cancelled the appointment I had with him just before Christmas which was when the colour and cut was planned. I'm planning to try a different hairdresser but I can't afford to go for a couple of weeks and my colour really does need to be done. Greys springing out all over my hairline and around my ears.
If I just buy a box of dye and do it the usual way surely it will cover up the highlights or at least make them less light? Or do I just do an inch or so at the hairline, but then how will that affect the highlights? Or do I do the hairline for the majority of the time with a quick cover over the rest of the hair for five mins or so?
