Trouser advice for the slim-of-body but wide-of-hip please?

I'm making it my new year's resolution to find or make at least one pair of trousers that fit me properly, and I'd be very grateful to anybody who can spare me the misery of trying to adapt a pattern to suit my shape.

My shape is very awkward to dress - I'm slim (small size 10) but my body is mostly wide rather than deep. I have a very pronounced hourglass shape - small waist, swayback, very wide pelvis, sticky-out arse, and thighs which are wide at the top but taper very sharply. As a result, any trousers that fit around my hips gape widely at the small of my back, and any trousers that don't gape have obvious tension-lines radiating from my crotch to my hips. Stretchy fabric makes things worse, as I'm sure you can imagine.

I remember low-rise wide legged trousers used to work fine, but I can't find any smart ones any more - it seems that they went out of style in about 2007... Sad If anybody could recommend me some in dark grey (or other colours), or suggest another style that might work I'd really appreciate it!

I've just bought these from Next for work, and am also a pear shape. I'm 10 top and 12 bottom and these are low enough at the waist not to gape but not too low to be indecent!

They're not wide leg but more boot cut (oh, the mumsnet shame! Blush) but it's much more flattering for me like that.

No guarantees they'll be right for you but I thought it could be a starting point!
