Has anyone bagged any bargains in the sales?

I got a gorgeous Episode black sequinned maxi skirt for half price (£57) that i'm going to wear for NYE with a new black Primark tee.

I also got this in black for £35 and this for £20 from French Connection.

Has anyone else found any bargains? I really need to get a winter coat/cape and a dark denim/leather/cord skirt (straight or A line and a couple of inches above the knee) but didn't see anything like that today...

Ilovecrossfit · 28/12/2012 19:27

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 28/12/2012 19:29

WipsGlitter · 28/12/2012 20:00

Where did you get the day birger from?

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 28/12/2012 20:12

House of Fraser. All the stock was reduced, even the new stock. It is very soft and gorgeous, even compared with my other cashmere.

I swore I wasn't getting anything in the sale.

I failed.

I managed to get a Jigsaw pencil skirt that matches with my favourite suit (I have the jacket, dress and a different style skirt). It was £49 down from £119 which is an absolute bargain.

I also got a fleece from M&S for a fiver which will work well on outdoorsy days, some PJ bottoms and a dress for work from Banana Republic.

I then got co-erced into the sales by the DDs and ended getting DD1 a skirt she'd been eying up in Jack Wills and a top. She's got some more Nike Pros too. With her own Christmas money, she's ordered some greeny blue court shoes (too high IMO) and a black lacey dress (too short!) from ASOS. We're going to SEE when they arrive!

DD2 got some Hollister jeans, and more Nike Pros. She's eying a fleece lined Jack Wills hoody, but her Christmas money won't completely cover it, so we're hoping it comes down some more in the sale.

DD3 got some skinny jeans at Zara (not reduced by much though), plus a skirt and a beautiful pale pink cardigan at H&M.

DD4 got a Joules fleece which, judging by the state of her old one will be well used. We got a ballet t-shirt from Joules too, which she loves. She also got new converse pumps and new trainers (she's grown over Christmas). She needs new school shoes, but I can't face it yet.

I then got a pile of school tights for them all at £2 a pair (which, given that they seem to eat/rip/lose/sell tights at a rate of knots, I'm pleased with).

I did, however, resist the burgundy Mulberry Bayswater which I really want.

Debs75 · 29/12/2012 14:16

Not style and beauty related but the best sale bargain I have ever had.
A box of Thorntons Classic 562g £6 down from £12.99, then I had a £5 off voucher which went through so they were £1 That is me sorted for NYE.

I generally don't do sales as I hate all the pushing and shoving and there is never anything in my size

ScariestFairyByFar · 29/12/2012 14:46

Got various bargains in fat face sale Grin

Ilovecrossfit · 29/12/2012 14:56

Debs 75 I did most of it on sale, went to debenhams today though and got lots of socks and underwear for DS also two chunky cardigans in ted Baker both 40% reduced for DD.

Ilovecrossfit · 29/12/2012 14:57

I meant online not on sale !

Whitershadeofpale · 29/12/2012 15:03

faux they had a lots of skirts like that in m&s of all places. I need them too and picked up armloads only to be told that they close every changing room for the duration of the sale.

There's no way I'm going to spend more money than I wanted to on things in mulitiple sizes and styles, traipse them home and then have to traipse half or them back for a return. They're loss- I probably would have spent over £100 lots of others were just dumping armfulls of clothes outside the changing room entrance in disgust.

They might not be doing it in every store though or you might find some online.

cece · 29/12/2012 18:16

M&S always close their changing rooms on first days of their sale. I just wear leggingd and top and try everything on on the shop floor. Smile

simplesusan · 29/12/2012 18:37

I went today with the intention of just having a day out with my friend.
bought a lacey mint top that I had had my eye on pre sales reduced to £7 and a soft peach/pink tunic dress reduced to £10 from H&M. they also gave me a voucher for £5 off which I will spend the next time I'm in there.
I the got a matching bangle and necklace half price in Debenhams.
