Not had a good look yet, but I got some great bargains last year.

OP posts:
ChablisLover · 24/12/2012 20:42

It's still not as good as last year yet.

Am holding out for later on in the week for proper reductions.

In other words the coat I'm after is still only 50% off - still not discounted enough for me.

SilverSixpence · 25/12/2012 12:28

Thanks for this, quite a few nice things at 75% off, pleased with my bargains!

knitknack · 25/12/2012 13:20

Thank you! I bought a dress, a top and some trousers :D

HalleLoujainHomelandWonderland · 26/12/2012 11:47

What should I buy?

SilverSixpence · 26/12/2012 14:42

I bought a couple of jersey tops and dresses, thought the price was great for basics like plain skirts and trousers.

TrillsCarolsOutOfTune · 26/12/2012 14:49

I've ordered this Canberra dress and this Selina dress

You can also get cashback via topcashback - only 5% but every little helps. Click through from topcashback to the site where you are buying stuff, the money tracks and goes into your topcashback account, after a little while you can either have it sent to your bank account or (if you don't want to tell them your bank details) turned into an Amazon voucher which is then emailed to you.

(if you want to sign up but you don't like me use [www.topcashback.com instead of the link above)

HalleLoujainHomelandWonderland · 26/12/2012 14:55

I like the look of Selina but am petite with big norks so not sure it would work. I love Top Cashback btw.

Trills · 26/12/2012 14:57

The Selina with big boobs would definitely be a special-occasion dress

HalleLoujainHomelandWonderland · 26/12/2012 14:58

Probably not then!

Might by some jersey tops though.

HalleLoujainHomelandWonderland · 26/12/2012 15:01

Am quite liking Tilly and the Isabelle Jersey twist one.

I like this one but think the norks might ruin it Romeo and Juliet.

Trills · 26/12/2012 16:12

I think that dress would look like a sack no matter whether you had boobs or not (sorry)

HalleLouja · 26/12/2012 17:15

I know but it looks so pretty. Will avoid.

SilverSixpence · 26/12/2012 17:26

Don't think the prints are that great this time round

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 26/12/2012 19:28

Bought several dresses last year and have worn and worn them for work and just spent £80 on 3 dresses and 2 tops because they are a steal at some of the prices. Some other bits that I wanted are out of stock Sad GPs pricing strategy is just bizarre. Confused

SilverSixpence · 31/12/2012 11:50

Got my GP order - very pleased! Placed a massive order Blush so i could have a nice post baby wardrobe, I just hope everything will fit!

Selina dress - quite dressy but very comfy and think it will be flattering, I can even squeeze my baby belly into it and it doesn't look bad!
Shrimpton shirt - nice smart shirt with concealed buttons for breastfeeding
Nouran top like the Toast overpriced viscose t-shirts but much cheaper. Lovely shade of red, comfortable and flattering.
Isabelle dress comfy day dress, and stretchy enough for breastfeeding

maxi skirt comfortable, lined (doesn't do up at the moment though!)
[http://www.greatplains.co.uk/product/Woman+Sale+Dresses/J1AK7/Dusty+Jersey+Maxi+Dress.htm Maxi dress]] doesn't show up in normal sale section mysteriously, good basic for dressing up or down.

I think that's everything! There was some other stuff i liked which isn't on offer, probably just as well Xmas Grin

SilverSixpence · 31/12/2012 11:51

oops link fails

maxi dress
sweet autumn shirt dress

mirpuppet · 31/12/2012 12:29

Nice stuff.

Anyone know a place to see and try on items in London? My goal in the New year is to try before I buy thus reducing time at post office and keeping unflattering bargains

libertychick · 31/12/2012 12:35

John Lewis and House of Fraser both have Great Plains clothing so you can try on there.

SilverSixpence · 31/12/2012 13:29

Hm tried on the maxi dress, it is far too long Hmm shame as the fit is otherwise perfect

PipCarrier · 31/12/2012 14:39

What is their sizing like? I think I had a top from there years ago and it was slightly on the generous size - am I right?

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 31/12/2012 15:34

Yes - sizing is generous.

My order arrived today;

Penelope knit is a keeper as is Jack knit to wear for work.

Canberra dress is also staying but I'm sending back this because it was a very peculiar shape on me Confused

I really want the Mae wrap skirt for work so hopefully it might come back in stock or come up on Brandalley.

mirpuppet · 31/12/2012 15:51

Thanks ladies. Also are the dresses as short as they seem on the models? I'm 5'4 and like knee length.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 31/12/2012 15:58

I'm 5'5 and they're knee length on me.

mirpuppet · 31/12/2012 16:50

Thanks again. May break my rule and order on line.

Zwitterion · 31/12/2012 18:27

I ordered two tops to go with black skinnies
First one Delphine but going back as a bit cruise ship.

And vaudeville open top which I'm keeping as works with skinnies and a couple of dresses I have too.

Grr paying for postage there and back but hey.
