I've bought this dress from monsoon - not really my usual style but tried on about 20 and despite being a size 10 they all made me look dumpy and matronly Sad

SantasNaughtySack · 22/12/2012 15:03

mariah, I wear dresses at home most days... Why does that make me look any more of a dickhead than wearing jeans with no shoes? Confused
Also, never cooked a turkey in my life.

SaraBellumHertz · 22/12/2012 15:07

We're going somewhere quite glam for Christmas lunch and I was going to wear silver Ted baker peep toes and carry a pewter Burberry clutch but I'm not living it - might just wear black skinnies and a nice Reiss shirt I bought recently hmmm

MariahScarey · 22/12/2012 15:07

Dresses with No shoes. No.

nilbyname · 22/12/2012 15:10

Grey silk l/a dress from monsoon with a gold skinny studded belt, leopard print court shoes, burgundy opaque tights and gold triangular earrings. Dress is a loose fit but will be wearing spanx underneath. Will add a big darker grey wool jumper from Zara and switch into black work boots from toast for the walk later. An hoping FC has gotten me some nice pjs to snuggle in later.
I think it's important to look a bit glam at Christmas to give it a sense if occasion.

I do not EVER look like a dickhead. Advise yourself Mariah!

nilbyname · 22/12/2012 15:11

SaraI have to size up in monsoon as their pattern cutting is pretty poor and for very petite hour glass shapes I think

Mrsrudolphduvall · 22/12/2012 15:13

I have decided to wear a Mint Velvet dress I bought last year and have never worn..it's grey Smile long sleeves, with a silk wrap bit around the waist.

Part of my " not keeping for best" new year attitude.

reindeercanteatsweets · 22/12/2012 15:15

MariahScarey · 22/12/2012 15:17

madammecholet · 22/12/2012 15:18

Black whistles skinnies, black sequin reiss long sleeved t, and a long black Brora cardi which I swoosh over one shoulder, lashings of gold accessories.. (and slippers) runs and hides from MariahScarey

noddyholder · 22/12/2012 15:21

nilbyname · 22/12/2012 15:26

noddyholder · 22/12/2012 15:27

I think I am the only woman who can't get on with 'shapewear'

nilbyname · 22/12/2012 15:27

Oh an my outfit will be accessorised by a large glass of prosecco at all times

MariahScarey · 22/12/2012 15:28

Noddy if like to be Liz in her Gstaad era. Sunglasses and white fur

MariahScarey · 22/12/2012 15:28

Agree re shape wear. Just eat less or buy a. Bigger size

noddyholder · 22/12/2012 15:29

I love her in all her guises love the fur coat with cigarette in the snow.

nilbyname · 22/12/2012 15:30

noddy why? I have the one that is like a slip that covers my bra and knickers to give one smooth outline. I like them, but then I do love a high waisted trouser or skirt too.

noddyholder · 22/12/2012 15:31

I think even a round figure looks better untethered natural not sausage for 2013

nilbyname · 22/12/2012 15:31

Mariah are you meaning to be quite so rude?

ChristmasNamechangeBridezilla · 22/12/2012 15:32

A Christmas jumper with hotpants and thick tights and calf boots. Probably not my finest S and B moment but it is Christmas after all!
