Jeans -should I give up or can you help?

Hi all
Am really struggling with jeans. As a curvy size 10, I have never found a pair that are quite right. They always gape at the back, and the smaller size at
the waist won't stretch over ample thighs and arse

On the rare occasions when I think I've found a half decent pair, they seem to be baggy and falling down within the hour. I guess that's because the waist is still a bit loose and once the Lycra stretches, the problem is magnified.

Any recommendations? Have never tried a more expensive pair but happy to consider it as long as they won't stretch and be useless after an hour or two wearing them. Bit worried about spending £££ and getting nowhere!

Can you still get non-stretch jeans? Pref thick ones which hold everything in!

Loads of people rave about the Levi Curve range, might be worth a try.

Dorothy Perkins bootcuts fit me perfectly, and I usually have the same problem with jeans and trousers. I know bootcuts aren't considered stylish these days, but these ones are quite a nice flattering cut, and tbh I'm just glad to have something that fits (if I could find skinny/straight jeans that I could get on without an extra 6 inches around the waist, I'd wear them!). They might not be the greatest quality, but at least they're cheap. I bought 3 pairs, I was so excited to find jeans that fit .

Gap bootcuts are not bad either, maybe a little tighter in the thighs. More expensive, but probably better quality.

I usually go with Levis - a bit more expensive but always seem to last longer than cheaper brands. Like Bella suggests, why not try on some Levi Curves and see if they fit you OK

Do they stretch and get looser as you wear them? I've bought several pairs that appear to fit to start with and have this problem which is why I'm on the verge of giving up.......the fact they fit in the changing room hasn't meant much recently!

Where abouts are you OP.

I would recommend going to either a specialst denim shop such as Donna Ida or Trilogy. Or a good dept store with a big range such as Selfridges, HN.

I'm a similar shape. I have some nice jeans and jeggings from Oasis. Levis Curve didn't quite do it for me. For bootcuts try Gap long and lean. I've had a couple of pairs of those and they fit well.

Make sure that when you try them on they do up but seem far too tight. Once you have worn them for a few hours they will be perfect.

I have a friend with the same problem as you. She buys jeans, trousers and then goes to a alternations to have them fit.

I'm mostly looking for boot cuts, even though I know they aren't that trendy. Possibly straight leg if they are generous in cut. With legs like mine you get to choose..... 1. A trendy parsnip or 2. A less than trendy human

I do like Levi curve jeans - I find that they suit my figure. I am size 10, 5"3 and my butt and thighs are a bigger proportion than lower legs. I find to buy them fitting snug in the store as that way once they are worn in, they fit just right (obviously not so tight you can't move in them, just nicely snug). I have also just tried Jessica Simpson jeans (never thought i'd go for her clothing, who knew?!) and they are nice because instead of the usual sizing (26", 28", 30" etc) they go 26", 27", 28" etc so if you are between the usual sizes you can get one that actually fits you instead of what I usually have to do which is buy too loose or too tight. Don't know if you have them there - I am in North America. I also am now avoiding skinny jeans as they wear in the crotch due to me having thighs and have switched to boot cut instead

I have the same problem and the only ones I have found to fit perfectly are gap jeans. I love mine.

I have a 12" difference between my waist and hips and recently found a perfectly fitting pair of Per Una jeans. I know Per Una is much maligned on MN but these jeans are cut for women with waists and hips and are so comfortable. They wash well too.

Can I suggest that you have a look in TK Maxx as well, as my other perfectly fitting jeans are a brand called Saltworks and are cut for women. TK Maxx often have Levi curve in stock at a fraction of the price.

Actually I have some Per Una jeans that fit well too (the 'Roma' style). I didn't recommend them, because at least on me, they look so unflattering. But I agree they're comfortable and last well, and don't seem to stretch or go baggy.

Gap jeans do tend to stretch a bit IME, so you might be better off getting a size down if you can get into it, even if they feel too tight to start with. My DP ones haven't stretched at all.
