Posh dinner tomorrow night. I have finally decided on an outfit with heels. I don't normally wear heels. How can I walk in them without looking like a duck or being stompy?

Thanks

Practise practise practise.
Put a hair bobble/elastic band across the arch of your foot, and under the shoe. This will give you stability and confidence at first.
Walk walk walk.
Then take off the bobble and walk slowly.
You do not need to rush anywhere in heels crake your time. Walk from the hip not the knee. You'll be great!

Thank you

I think I'll try wearing the shoes to work tomorrow morning for a bit of walking about. I terrified of going to the loo and falling flat on my face, or breaking my ankle!

Shorten your stride into laydee like steps, not tottering but no striding out confidently like models do in adverts.

If you buy heels again look at dancing shoes from professional dance suppliers, they are usually fastened to the foot with a t bar strap and it gives you an idea of what to look for in high street shoes.

If you watch strictly you'll notice the shoes tend to be sandals fastened to the foot not court shoes.
