Can I Wear A Dress With Tan Boots?

I have these boots...here

I usually wear them with jeans and a cardigan. DP is convinced I could wear them with a dress and tights, I'm not so sure.

Today he's bought me something like this and this and remains convinced that the boots will go worn with black tights.

What do we think? I can do jeans, but dresses escape me... Thank you!

I wouldn't personally wear either of those dresses with black tights and those boots, but I think there are dresses that would work with them.

Oh dear, I must be very old, but the two things that struck me about your OP were

1. Why on earth is DP telling you what to wear?
2. Why does he want you to look like a prostitute? [bush]

I like the boots and I like the dresses, but not together.

ACtually, yy to *Battlefront... Is he suggesting other things you might look nice in, or telling you he doesn't like the way you dress and trying to force you into changing? If you're more happy in jeans and cardis, wear the jeans and cardis

We are supposed to be going to a work thing later, and the dress code for women is odd. It'll be cold, so I had planned on wearing a nice top, jeans and my boots (they are very warm) but a new email has just gone out stating jeans are forbidden.

I sent him out to try and find me something nice! I'm v.short, so they are a decent length on me.

I think the cricket jumper one with one of the plain tights linked in brown which tones with boots would be OK, but think the other dress and the boots would be OTT and a bit tarty personally.
