am going to spend the day with dh's family who we only see every six months or so. haven't seen them this time for longer than that-ages in fact!
They are obsessed with people being thin and fashionable and as i am neither i always feel a bit of a heifer.
i'm going to pop out to the shops tonight to see if i can get something new.We will just be hanging out I imagine , maybe with a pub lunch thrown in.I will still of course be looking after my incredibly snotty clingy 2 y/o so has to be practical.
i'm 5'11" and about an 18.

It sounds like a pretty casual affair to me, won't jeans and a nice top do the job?

alexsmum · 12/04/2006 18:38

well you'd have thought...Smile

what kind of top? someting vaguely trendy but that will cover my belly and bum?

gah! I'm not one of the fashion guru crowd!

But it is important that you feel comfortable, so don't go for anything too outlandish. What about one of those long t shirts that are in the shops at the moment, or how about one of those pretty blouses that seem to be everywhere - the slightly Victorian inspired ones in lovely delicate cotton?

black trousers which can be dressed up or down and a loose kaftanny top which are around at the moment.

Some nice beads and earrings. Trendy belt.

Get your hair done too and lots of makeup to make you feel confident.

Black boots and you are good to go!

But dont panic buy!

You would be better with nothing than something you arent comfy in and will never wear again!

sorry if you go to womens shirts, it's the red crysanthemum print shirt.it looked nice with my jeans and i thought it would be ice in the summer with white trousers.
