I've had a quick look at the big BB thread, but since that a few have ceased business, and you know, things change...

So, dsis and I are thinking of clubbing together and getting DM a 6month bb subscription, but a bit stumped as to which one. Seems our choices are glossy, joliebox or amarya.

DM is mid 50s, stylish, usually uses Clarins/ keihls, wears jo Malone.... Would any of these be suitable do you think, or has the arse dropped out of the market ads they are now filled with crap?

MN wisdom gratefully received we are panicking

Oh dear, I think you'll get a few die-hard fans against a chorus of people, like me, that tried and gave up after too many disappointments.

Has she had her colours done? I think that would be a great present for a stylish mum.

Thanks for the reply Pinot. I think you've said enough to put me off (was hearing alarm bells after it seems a few have ceased trading).

Now 'colours done' there's an idea, and no she hasn't. Now I've seen it talked about lots, and nodded along but I'm not entirely sure what it involves, will enable and how I'd go about finding someone to 'do' them?

Have a search for past threads on here (S&B). They're very popular amongst MNers, or so I gather - and from what I've read, can make a big difference to confidence in how you look. I think House of Colour is one name...Colour Me Beautiful is another, I think. I wish my memory was better - but Advanced Search is your friend - there was one long-running thread not long ago that went into great detail.

I subscribe to Glossybox and it is hit and miss. The products are noticeably less high end than last December. I was v disappointed with this month's although I paid for it with "glossydots" (like reward points).

I think the colours thing is a nice idea.
