shamballa bracelets for 40/50 somethings?

are these an ok gift? I have bought dsil one along with a manicure voucher,and an accessorize nail polish set , she is early 40's, I have bought dm one to go with sparkly handbag and sparkly scarf as well as other presents . I was wrapping last night and DH commented that they are a bit "teenage" so now im not sure.

My mum wears them and she is 74! She loves a bit of bling!!

I'd say they are now a bit passe and have gone the way of pandora bracelets even for teenagers. Time for the next new big thing. The manicure stuff sounds lovely.
