Best place for hair clips (barrettes) pls?

General dress style is very classic - knee length skirts, jackets, twinsets, tailored dresses, smart jeans with knee high boots. Last bought clips 3 years ago in France, but they've slowly all been lost. Everything seems so tacky. Any suggestions please?
