And when the sale might be starting ? I am desperate to get my hands on a Mulberry bag and have decided this is the one !

I have just checked my sale preview for Selfridges and it hasn't been reduced there.

Somebodysomewhere · 16/12/2012 19:11

Hmm. Do you know which ones are reduced ? I do love it i might go for it at full price. Ive been saving for a Mulberry for months !

There are no Mulberry products in the online sale I'm afraid.

Somebodysomewhere · 16/12/2012 19:18

Oh no ! Really ? Do you think they aren't having a sale then ? Shock

Our press packs don't mention any Mulberry sales this year. Nothing in the Selfridges preview either.

I'd say it's unlikely they will be having a big sale.

AmberNectarine · 16/12/2012 19:36

Nothing in the Matches preview either, but I went in store and bought a purse at 40% off. Not sure why the online embargo.

Lilys do go in the sale, but not usually black or tan, as is the case with most Mulberry bags. Seasonal colour ways do, and Mulberry sale prices tend to range from 30-50%. If you can get to Selfridges on day one do, as they are more generous discounters.

I have a Lily. The chain broke after a few wears.

Under warranty but I would never buy a Mulberry again - it's a design fault and unless they change the design I will have to keep re-replacing the strap as it has several weak points.

I have other high-end bags, they have better quality control and are better made.

Buy an Anya Hindmarch instead - they are much nicer and sturdier.

Somebodysomewhere · 16/12/2012 19:47

Really Dona ? Interesting. Might have a re think if they really are that bad.
I guess i will just have to wait and see. I might go to the outlet in York and have a look there.

Anyone know about the stores themselves ? We have one by us so i miht just go there. (Besides the outlet)

Think it was Xmas Eve last year. Some Lilys will be discounted so it's worth looking out for.

DonaAna · 16/12/2012 21:01

I bought my Lily in the NAP sale last summer and really wish I hadn't. It's a drag to have to repair an almost-new bag. The chain is an awkward length too, slightly too long.

Hope you have better luck but I think you'd be better off buying something else. IMO Mulberry do mass-market bags with high-end prices. I live in Italy and the high street brands here - say Furla and Coccinelle and Longchamp, or even no-name brands - are much better made. I'd research other options. Anyas or Celine bags, for example.

pinktortoise · 17/12/2012 13:39

Sale started Xmas eve online last year . Reductions about 20% - however seeing as they put prices up by £100 a bag a couple of weeks ago I am not sure that there will be much saving! I have decided to go with a jaeger bag this year as mulberry are becoming so overpriced and ubiquitous!

daisydoodoo · 17/12/2012 14:10

what has happened with mulberry pricing? so expensive now. i last brought only a year ago or so and the same bag is a good few hundred pounds more expensive.
I had some money to buy myself a bag but it wont be mulberry at those prices.

Glossynotflossy · 17/12/2012 17:27

Chic and seek have some Mulberry bags including a cross body bag on for a good price. Pre loved though op
