What shoes do you wear with dresses?

I will be wearing black tights if thst makes a difference.

How high will you go?!

Charliefox · 15/12/2012 17:26

would you wear something like this for example?

Wearsuncream · 15/12/2012 17:33

Chunkier heals boots or wedges - I avoid spindle heels

JaquelineHyOnChristmasSpirit · 15/12/2012 17:34

A chunky low heel or a good size wedge.

Never flat unless it's summer or you are pg.

Selks · 15/12/2012 18:27

Good question. I'd like an answer to this dilemma too.

Hate low kitten heel type shoes too - look terrible if you're big.

GwendolineMaryLacedwithBrandy · 15/12/2012 18:29

Lowish wedges. I can't bear high heels

smugmumofboys · 15/12/2012 18:32

How big are you? I'm on the large-ish size and have these. They are super comfy and not at all wobbly.

cookielove · 15/12/2012 18:35

I am 5"8, with a size 16 bottom and 14 sometimes 12 if i breath in on top, (not sure if that counts as plus size) but i never wear heels, ever not even on my wedding day Wink i wear flat ballet pumps, in loads of different colours Grin

TheFarSide · 15/12/2012 18:37

I often wonder why platforms aren't more widespread - they give you several inches of height but without all the weight on the ball of your foot. I don't like heels but I would wear platforms (if I could find them more easily).

BikeRunSki · 15/12/2012 18:42

I am a similar build to cookie, and wear ballet flats from Land's End for pretty much everything. They do them in various materials (leather, suede, fabric), widths, chunkinesses and colours. I have thick soled black leather ones for work and slim soled silver metallic fabric ones for posh and had chunky red nubuck ones for mum-at-home days, but I wore them out after a lot of wear!

BikeRunSki · 15/12/2012 18:43

Ooh, and White Stuff wedges for the rare occasions I feel a bit of height would be beneficial.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 15/12/2012 19:51

I dont mind a bit of a heel aslong as they look comfy. I live in flat pumps of all different colours and I am paranoid I walk like a man, so think a heel might help :o

I am a size 22 and 5ft9 but I have quite thin legs. I would say I am an apple. I have quite big hips and then my thighs go right in and taper down to thin ankles, so need to balance out iyswim?

The first link shoes are nice, but I think the toe on them would make my size 8s look huge.

Those clarks ones are really lovely! Definately going on the short list!

Are these too plain?

I like those boots Smile

wannabedomesticgoddess · 15/12/2012 20:20

:)

Wearing ankle boots with a dress seems to be only for skinny girls :o I will have to be brave I think!

Thats my xmas present sorted then! My mum keeps asking what I want!

I have a pair similar to these but they're all black. I won't wear heels, I like to be comfortable.

ISawSantaKissingThePortlyPinUp · 15/12/2012 20:35

I wear brothel creepers, converse, ballet pumps, or a low chunky heel. I've been wearing these quite a bit recently, they really brighten my day.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 15/12/2012 21:58

I would walk out of those Iwipe. But they do look really comfy!

Those shoes are gorgeous Isaw, they are out of stock though, New look have a similar style but they are out of stock too :( They are totally my style too!

I will have to have a look and see if anywhere else has similar!
