Would a Jack Wills book bag be a cool or naff present for an 11 year old girl?

as above really :)

I need to buy a gift for an 11 year old girl - would like to get her something cool.

The "in" brands seem to be Hollister, Jack Wills and Superdry(?)

Want to spend about the 20 quid mark.

Saw these but they look naff to me but then I'm an old fuddy duddy!

I teach that age and I say cool!

Hulababy · 14/12/2012 21:53

DD is 10y and in Y6 and would like most things related to Jack Wills, as would many of her friends.

amck5700 · 14/12/2012 21:56

great :) - any views on which pattern?

I'd say the second link, then then I'm slightly older than your target audience Grin

sarahseashell · 14/12/2012 22:04

I'd go for the 2nd one in the pink and navy, being the classic JW colours Wink

dairymoo · 14/12/2012 22:05

Second one deffo.

amck5700 · 14/12/2012 22:05

That was the one I liked best - each link is for a type of bag - one has 4 different patterns and the other 3 - why so many choices???? Aaaargggghhh!!

Thanks for your help everyone.

I have boys - I know nothing about these things!

the stripy one or the flowery one sarah?

OP posts:
Hulababy · 14/12/2012 22:08

Second one, in the pink/navy classic JW design

amck5700 · 14/12/2012 22:10

so that's the stripy one then Hula?

Hulababy · 14/12/2012 22:12

My 11 yr old dd would be perplexed, but she is not interested in fashion/brand stuff - so it depends on the 11yr old.

amck5700 · 14/12/2012 23:14

The girl I am buying for isn't obsessed with clothes and things but does like to have the fashionable stuff and her parents are quite fashion concious too. I think I'll choose a nice novel or something to go with it.

My 12 year old son is not interested but his 11 year old brother is a bit more - I think it depends on who their friends are too.

yes I meant the stripey one too OP I think that sounds like a lovely present Xmas Smile

Ilovecrossfit · 15/12/2012 11:05

Yes go for it I prefer the first one though..either way she'll love it

Hermionewastherealhero · 15/12/2012 11:09

Very cool! I'm a teacher and a student left a jack wills pen on my desk- I got lots of compliments about being cool from other students!

GrimmaTheNome · 15/12/2012 11:16

It does depend on the girl...mine is 13 now, when I was getting her a messenger bag for school she explained to me that the 'in' brands were for people who thought they were cool but weren't really.

As a rule of thumb, if you've ever seen the girl wearing logo'd clothes she'll love it; otherwise I'm sure she'll appreciate the thought, and either of those bags looks like something my DD would use even though she's a goat not a sheep. So fine either way. Smile
