Snowflake skirt

Please tell me if you think awful/no hope/old fashioned etc...I will cry but I will be back Wink

Umm...I wouldn't wear it. It looks like the bottom doesn't belong...like it was too short so they just added some random mismatched fabric to it.

I'm not too sure what you could wear it with, either. Something simple like a white vest top?

Don't do it, OP! There must be nicer snowflake print skirts around.

SantasNaughtySack · 14/12/2012 16:24

If I was going to wear it, I'd probably wear a tucked in fine knit jumper in black.

But I wouldn't wear it Grin sorry!

Willowisp · 14/12/2012 16:29

yes, on reflection, that's not the best photo.

I do have it Blush but mine is ironed (& unworn).

I have about 4 or 5 white stuff skirts gathering dust because I can't seem to get the top half right (& also think they are a bit.....frumpy now ?)

I can see why you think they are frumpy...it's that style of skirt, I think. The cut just says frumpy and old. And the pattern isn't nice.

I suspect that's the reason you can't find anything to wear with it...it's difficult to think of what would make that look good.

Could you invest in a nicer skirt instead?

Willowisp · 14/12/2012 17:15

yes I could (within reason), any suggestions ? Size 8, short legs, oh, & old (44) Wink

Give me a budget and colour preferences... I'm feeling like some voyeuristic shopping Grin

notMarlene · 14/12/2012 18:07

If I HAD to wear it I think I'd go with a tight, thin knit, pink cashmere jumper with a skinny black belt over it and black tights.

MiniTheMinx · 14/12/2012 18:14

and this is nice www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silver-Ted-Baker-Skirt-Size-8-BRAND-NEW-WITH-TAG-RRP-149-/110986788761?pt=UK_Women_s_Skirts&hash=item19d753ff99 brand new for £ 40, retail price lots lots more!

cheeseandpineapple · 14/12/2012 18:17

I think it has potential.

Would wear it during the day with black top and black boots. Would not wear any other colours with it. If not a slim fit black top, then would see how it looks with a low slung, thick belt.

Don't give up on it!

Willowisp · 14/12/2012 19:29

Ooo so clever !

The black belt is sounding good, the skirt's main colour is grey though so would a grey jumper be better ? ( shall I confess now to having the co-ordinating cardi ? Blush Blush ?)

Just a thought, I suit fitted clothes better...if that helps ?

The spotty skirt is a bit big for me I think (although do like it) I LOVE the silver one though..but what goes on the top ?! I am always cold, so can not do thin/wispy. [pain-in-the-neck-emoticon]

sorry - £40ish budget, autumn colours

MiniTheMinx · 14/12/2012 21:12

With the silver skirt, I think I would wear a winter white or silver cami top with a short fitted winter white cashmere cardigan or something similar but angora. I don't wear heels so I would probably wear it with ballet pumps.

I think your skirt would look nice with what notMarlene suggests. Although I have so many black tops and cardigans, which I wear with everything.

VBisme · 15/12/2012 11:24

Thin knit black fitted polo neck and black heeled boots (or grey if the skirt is actually grey).
