My current stuff is all about 8 years old and faded so I'm going to treat myself to something nice and new - looking for inspiration/something that doesn't make me look frumpy Smile

I have a couple of pairs of these and a couple of longer joggies from M&S. I wear a t-shirt with them.

iloveeverton · 14/12/2012 10:08

I wear nike dri-fit running leggings or capri pants.

Nike dri-fit running vest. H & M sports bra.

socks these are amazing I run half marathons and since I got these I never get blisters.

I also have a nike running jacket for outside.

All washed 3 times a week and lasted atleast 2 years well worth the money.

shelldockley · 14/12/2012 10:25

I recently bought some gym stuff from Gap, they have a high tec moisture-wicking sports range and I actually prefer it to my Nike dri-fit stuff. Nice and plain too.

Thanks for your quick replies - have yoga pants had their day for the gym? Am mid 40s if that makes a difference?

I wear running tights, either full length or capri for running (outdoors). If am working out at home it is often just sports bra, shorts and trainers...

I find loose trousers harder to move in, but that may be just me.

Sports Direct is ace for bargain priced gym kit.

Manictigger · 14/12/2012 10:36

I think it depends how much you want to spend really. I love my Sainsbury's Tu moisture control (horrid name) leggings and Karrimor running top and Dri socks (both cheap from Sportsdirect). It's only since I started training for the Moonwalk that I've realised how important good socks can be.

shrimponastick · 14/12/2012 10:37

daisie I am also mid 40s. Wear what feels right for you.

shrimponastick · 14/12/2012 10:39

manic th to running socks.

I have some really good socks for running, but also use cheapo aldi running socks. Almost as good for only a couple of quid. Nicely padded.

shrimponastick · 14/12/2012 10:47

I meant to type yy to running socks.

Stupid autocorrect.

hi88ert · 14/12/2012 11:58

Sweaty Betty do really nice gym gear and currently have a sale on their website

MrsSnow · 14/12/2012 12:48

I like wearing long running leggings, long sleeves top, good spots bra (essential) and running socks (stops blistering).

I have stuff from h and m but find it doesn't wash well ie it is ageing. However the stuff I've bought from sweaty betty washes really well and you can't tell that some things are over a year old.

sweetheart · 14/12/2012 13:04

My bottoms are mostly either rebok or Pineapple ones like these I have had them ages and they have lasted really well. I get them when a sale is on too. I think the most I've ever paid for bottoms was £10-£15.

i have recently just brought new tops as mine were stinking. I got a load from Gap when they had their 30% off and they have been good. I find it quite tricky to find ones that are comfy as I can't bear seams rubbing when i'm working out. I have these and these Sports bra's are from Tesco and Primark - I prefer my tesco's ones.

teta · 14/12/2012 14:23

Tescos for black/blue zip up bra and tracksuit bottoms[tights or bootleg].Sports Direct for whatevers on special offer[often usa pro] and Matalan for long bottom covering vest tops [for yoga /pilates] and black/pink sports bra which seems to anchor norks in place for high impact classes.

milkmoustache · 14/12/2012 15:00

TK Maxx always reliable for sports gear

Speedos · 14/12/2012 15:05

Another vote for sweaty betty here, very pricey but I love everything I own from there.

Snowkey · 14/12/2012 17:25

Ronhill running tights - reasonablely priced - good sized pocket at back for iPod/iPhone and an excellent fit. Good bra - Enell, socks too I wear X socks. Tops - I wear a long sleeved thermal from uniqlo, Tshirt over the top in sports fabric and a warm zipped top. Gloves, hats and sometimes a snood Blush And a running jacket from Sugoi.

brighthair · 14/12/2012 19:56

All from sports direct
3/4 length legging type tights but I have looser ones too, usually Nike
And Nike vest tops because they are super long and I'm tall
