Probably done to death...but I need a warm knee length down coat with hood

The shorter ones that are everywhere just look wrong on me. I am 5ft 7. I have a lovely looking one from Mango last year that is warm but useless really as the zip is faulty and it won't do up and the feathers keep leaking out of it! I love the look of the aigle cuckmere but don't want to spend that much. I am thinking more the £100 mark
I tried this Zara one on in store which is knee length on me but it just didn't seem very warm, does anyone have it?

Can we please stop bashing those of us who choose to/can afford to pay more.

I'm not bashing, just a simple statement of fact for me, tis all. I'd love to have the money to spend on nice clothes - I like clothes and would love to make the best of myself. But proper quality costs. A lot. And I'll happily admit to being really rather envious of those who can spend without worrying - we'd all love to be able to, daft to deny it. So please don't think we're having a go, we're not, there's no need to be sensitive about it.

OK. Funny thing is I'm very cost conscious but now and again, it is nice to treat oneself.

Sue, I don't think we're bashing - it's just different strokes for different folks. I like S&B because it's like having a personal shopper. My reality is that I will then look on eBay or charity shops.

I love the posts where people say 'it's a great top for everyday so I bought it in three colours. They're only £55'. Never fails to cheer me up.

North Face is unbeatable quality if you can afford it, but if you don't have 250 quid lying around then the Trespass Ladna is worth a look for around 70 (never pay "full price" for Trespass, their RRPs are a work of fiction like GAP).

That's a shame I like the look of the fur hood but won't have a hood with real fur . Bah!
