any recommendations for thermal/fleece tights?

I'm going 'home' to Scotland for Christmas and need some warm tights to wear with a dress. Can't afford Falke.
Are M&S or BHS thermal tights any good?
TIA

Primark do some that are lovely and warm, microfibre lined, really thick and soft inside, about £4.50 a pair.

Thanks!
Can I get them online? Won't have much shopping time when we get there...
Have googled and doesn't look as if Primark do online sales.

I just got some fleece lined rights from Dorothy Perkins, think they're by pretty polly. They are so snug and feel fab on (look like normal black opaques). Can highly recommend!

I got the M&S Heatgen tights and they were pretty warm.

Another vote for Primark.

Am currently sporting the cosy footless tights. I also have the cosy regular tights. Very warm. I sometimes overheat at home, and have tp whip them off.

I got some great ones from Uniqlo, not cheap but they've been through the wash several times and no sign of bobbles or shrinking, also come in funky colours.

frillyflower · 10/12/2012 10:49

M&s versions poor quality and wear out quickly IMO

Thanks for all the feedback. Will look into all these ideas.

I got the Tesco Ultra-Cosy ones. They are indeed cosy, but there is absolutely no shape to the feet/ankles so they have to be worn with boots to hide the baggy cankle effect...

CaroleService · 10/12/2012 12:08

Don't ge tthe John Lewis ones. Lovely and warm but the stitching at the waist has no give. They cut me in two.

AuldAlliance · 10/12/2012 12:27

Baggy ankles, guillotine waistbands, bobbly legs, worn out tights.
Maybe I'll stick to trousers. Wink

I always go with Uniqlo for things like this.

NotQuitePerfect · 11/12/2012 08:01

Primark better than the M&S ones, IMHO, and half the price!

ArbitraryUsername · 11/12/2012 08:32

Yeah, the Tesco ones are warm but remove all traces of ankles. The Asda 300 denier ones (rather than the fleecy/thermal ones) are warm and very cheap. Wash well and you still have ankles.

I find all M&S tights are crap.
