I would go for the larger size because pjs need to be comfy. But then I'm a lard arse! I wouldn't be offended.

I would go for the larger size if they were for me too, but don't want to upset her :S

I'd go for a 14 but buy from a place where she can exchange them easily

ggirl · 09/12/2012 16:28

16....tell her they were sold out of 14 and you hope she doesn't mind them baggy

Chandon · 09/12/2012 16:43

14!!!!!

My MIL is a size 16, but can occasionally squeeze into a 14, and would be mortified if I bought anything bigger than a 12!

Size 14 or even 12, from a shop close to her, with gift recept.

WayneDeer · 09/12/2012 17:05

A 14 and tell her they come up big....

polyhymnia · 09/12/2012 17:32

They do need to be comfy, not constricting.

Slightly depends on type and where you get them. If in stretchy material and from a retailer where sizing is generous, 14 might be OK. But if in a material with no give and in traditional 'button-through' style, I'd definitely go for 16 - not nice to have gaping buttons on any tops, including ones for relaxing.
