DOn't know if this should be in product section.

My dd has really dark hair and currnetly uses hair remover cream on her upper lip.Would electrolysis get rid of it permanently?

I used to do electrolysis, and believe it is responsible for the small hairline scars above my upper lip. AND the hair all grew back. Permanent my arse.

Oh, and if you think waxing hurts...

MrsSpoon · 10/04/2006 17:27

I was pondering this this morning (I am of the moustache brigade too). I was mostly thinking about waxing and whether having it waxed regularly would eventually stop the regrowth. Although I am not very good at having things waxed so don't know if I could bear this.

I generally use Jolen bleach and find this makes the hair lighter and finer.

I have my eyebrows and sometimes chin waxed. But, above the top lip is more painful. So I don't do that.

MissChief · 10/04/2006 17:40

ooh, thought I might have been missing out on perfect solution all these yrs. I use Jolen too and always been too chicken (or formerly too broke) to go for electrolysis..how often do people bleach? I find should do weekly but tend to forget. wondered about laser though, anyone tried it?

brimfull · 10/04/2006 17:42

Won't recommend electrolysis then!

Misschief, I used to do it weekly but either the regrowth has gotten a bit slower, my eyesight is failing or my standards are lower but it tends to be more like once a month now.

I have a friend who is going for laser sometime in the next few months I will ask how she gets on.

MissChief · 10/04/2006 17:48

great-she can be our guinea pig Grin
IKWYM about failing eyesight, also find living in a v dark house does wonders for self-esteem (but probably not personal hygiene)

So does the bleach actually affect hair growth rather than just lighten? Have had waxing done but it seems to irritate my skin and has actually taken of skin in in a couple of tiny patches so am v wary of going again. the hair is not hugely visible but i think once i became aware of it i was very self concious.
