Thinking about having my hair cut really short - do I dare?

I have boring brown chin length hair with not much style.

Thinkng about having it all cut off - the problem is that my hair takes ages to grow and so if I don't like it, it could take years to grow back.

Anyone had the chop and liked it?

And I got my ears pierced again (hadn't worn earrings for so long the holes had closed up )
