Tunics /long tops over straight above knee skirt. Is this bad a bad look?

Following on from the anti-tunic threads.....is this considered a bad look?

I have been teaming my tunic/longer style tops with straight skirts (not as tight as a pencil) that fall above the knee. Wearing leggings/tights underneath and then flats, heels or boots depending on the situation.

Sometimes with a slim belt over the tunic which I thought made it look more classic Confused

Have been finding this combination great for work and also for toddler groups etc but am now wondering Hmm

I am a sz 10 hourglass average height/build.

The reason I have been finding it good when at toddler groups or looking after LO is because unlike many dresses the straight skirt is less likely to fly up or get caught up etc and I can easily sit/crawl on the floor etc without worrying about flashing everyone.

It should be ok once you don't hide your hourglass shape.

Other styles would probably be more flattering but then again, you don't need to look your best at toddler group - you just need to dress practically and look reasonably ok.

I loathe all the threads that tell you what not to wear. If you're comfortable and happy in a tunic and skirt and find it practical then that's all that matters surely.

Oh dear. I might have to have a look at some new shorter tops to wear instead.

I will keep wearing that style skirt as I have found it a fantastic style/shape for wearing both while looking after my toddler and also at work. I found some fantastic bargains on ebay

What about shorter dresses over the top of straight skirts (above the knee)?
