Cheap as chips alternatives to Laura Mercier Secret Finish?

I'm attempting to cure my addiction to expensive cosmetics , so far have ditched Clarins and Liz Earle for Superdrug.
I started using this a few years ago after I read that Sarah Jane Parker used it to achieve her glow and I love the product but at about £20 a tube it ain't cheap. Anybody recommendations gratefully received !

I have the Secret Finish and to be honest I don't rate it. I can recommend Bourjois Flower Perfection primer...does same job, is far lighter on skin and a pleasant 9.99.

Am on my second tub now (only complaint is that the size is more suited to a doll!) and will only be using the Mercier in an emergency!

Is it a primer? Barbara Daly is the best imo.

If you want an alternative to Liz Earle then The Body Shop's Aloe range is fantastic and a third of the price if you buy with a code on line.

Thank you for replies.
Valiumredhead-no it's not a primer -you dab bit on cheekbones after you've done all your other make-up-I suppose it's an illuminator. Yes I agree the Barbara Daly primer is fab. Will look out for the Bourjois one as well ADifferentkindof mum, thanks.

Would like to know this too!
Sometimes dab a bit of Barbara Daly Face Lift on after make up,or they do a 'Soft Focus' as well which might do the job.

valiumredhead · 08/12/2012 17:02

Oh yes, the BD face lift is good! I have used that too.

ihatethecold · 09/12/2012 14:23

by far the best primer i have used is Laura Geller from QVC. The bottle is very big so will last about a yr.

i haven't seen it in the shops anywhere, just online, but it really makes my skin look nice. (Ive had comments) Xmas Grin

Barbara Daly also does a fab illuminator 'soft focus' and a range of other lovely little facey bits. Really good value and good products. I just wish our Tesco ever had things in stock.
