......and then discovered it is actually maternity wear and you aren't pregnant?!

Bought a gorgeous a-line black sequin dress with a cowl back from Monsoon today. It was a brand called Rock a Bye Rosie which I hadn't heard of - in fact I didn't know that Monsoon stocked anything other than their own brand. I googled the brand when I got home and discovered its maternity! It is mid-thigh on me and DH swears it doesn't look remotely maternity-esque....

Not sure whether I feel comfortable wearing it now!

Bump (no pun intended)

If it fits ok, go with it.

mirpuppet · 06/12/2012 17:05

Wear it.

CatchingMockingbirds · 06/12/2012 17:06

Get it, then you can eat as much as you want at the buffet and not have to worry about bloating Wink

ruby22 · 06/12/2012 17:06

If its not obviously maternity and not a recognisable mat brand then it will be fine.

ujjayi · 06/12/2012 17:12

Catchingmockingbirds ha ha! Funnily enough I did mention that it was unusual to find a slinky chic number that you could actually eat in!

Thanks for replies.

It really doesn't look at all maternity - there is no way I could have got my baby bumps in there! It just looks like a chic a-line dress.

I am being stoopid. If anyone does recognise it as maternity I am just gonna have to brazen it out!!

One of my favourite dresses is a maternity dress- with a belt you'd never know.

Rock a Bye Rosie do a non-maternity range too - and apparently sell it exclusively through Monsoon.

So I reckon you're safe!

ujjayi · 06/12/2012 17:20

here it is

Sariska that's good to hear! I just checked it over and the front isn't any longer than the back as it usually is with maternity dresses so presumably this is non-maternity :)

It's beautiful! Wear it, no one will ever know

Pootles2010 · 06/12/2012 17:25

Its lovely but it explicitly says its maternity? I think you should go for it anyway though, and agree with Mockingbird re buffet!

ujjayi · 06/12/2012 17:32

Pootles the one I linked to is definitely maternity but I bought mine from Monsoon, wasnt marketed as maternity and it isn't on their website.
